Obese city

obese.jpg I have come to the conclusion that there are so many obese people here in Britain because eating is one of its very few pleasures. Since I have been back in the UK, I have found myself wondering about what to cook for my evening meal at ridiculous times like 7:30 in the morning! And the highlight of my working day is going out into the city of Bradford (which is probably the most grim place on earth) and paying a visit to an over-priced, under-staffed sandwich shop. In fact, food is pretty much the only thing I get excited about these days. Things couldn’t be more different to the life I was living just a few months ago.In some ways, that’s a good thing, as I’ve never been the domestic type and I now find myself wanting to cook and seeing it as an art rather than a chore, arranging each different element of food neatly on the plate and quickly wiping any sauce off the side of it, just as your average Michelin-starred chef would do. However, this new found love for creating colourful cuisine means it has taken the place of something I used to experience before I came back here. Life, living and being outdoors. Being active, in other words.I used to critise people who are morbidly obese in this country but now I know it’s not really their fault. What else is there to do? Anyway, enough of me chewing the fat - dig in. I’m right behind ya!
