Allow me to introduce The Fluorescents -a band of brightly coloured creatures who love nothing more than rocking out at Post-It parties, desktop dancefloors and filing cabinet festivals.
I created them one day when I was bored at work in the hope that they would help to brighten up my desk and possibly even my life. I drew them on Post-It notes and stuck them around the screen of my computer but now I think it’s time they were introduced to the rest of the world.
Meet the band:
Mane (the lion) - Lead vocals, guitar
Whiskit (the cat) - Backing vocals, lead guitar
Rabble (the rabbit) - Bass
Duckles (the duck) - Drums, percussion

Addiction.
I think it is fair to say that I am rather addicted to Subway sandwiches, especially since its employees have been bombarding me with vouchers which entitle me to money off my lunches in all of its establishments.
It also doesn’t help that the drool-inducing scent of its freshly prepared bread can be picked up when standing meters away from one of its stores, luring and teasing and tormenting the taste buds, so much so that my mouth fills with acid and my stomach rumbles ferociously, forcing me to follow the aroma and purchase one of its beautiful creations. Usually in the form of an Italian BMT (salami, ham, pepperoni, lettuce, crunchy green peppers, spicy jalapenos and black olives, all cradled in a hearty white baguette).
Friends tell me that Subway put something into the bread to make you crave the sandwiches. They say it’s like nicotine as it has the same effect. They have even likened it to cocaine and now there is ongoing joke at work about me and ‘cocaine sandwiches’. However, this doesn’t put me off.
To me, the spice is right. The bread is perfect. The peppers couldn’t be more juicy if they tried and, due to my current frame of mind, is one of the few things I actually enjoy these days.

My recurring dream - again!
If you read my last post about dreams, you’ll know all about my recurring dream - the one about being in the girls’ toilets at school. Well, last night, I happened to have the very same dream again! I’d not had it for a while and the setting was slightly different (somewhere with lots of escalators) but the scenario was just the same.
If anyone out there is a professional dream ‘de-cypherer’, please could you let me know what my recurring dream is trying to tell me as it’s beginning to bug the hell out of me!
