No pride.
Since being back in the UK, one of the many things I’ve noticed is that people just don’t take any pride in their surroundings.
I was so shocked on my first walk around the city of Bradford as I gazed at the streets, wondering what the white circles all over the pavements were. My friend enlightened me, saying it was chewing gum. I was gob-smacked. It was EVERYWHERE!
And it’s not just the chewing gum – the amount of litter on the streets… it’s gross! i feel like I’m living in a giant rubbish dump in the middle of the North Sea!
Go anywhere else in Europe (especially Spain) and you’ll see street cleaners out washing the city pavements at the crack of dawn. They’re so dedicated and determined to keep their towns looking clean and tidy, I have total respect for them. Whereas here, I have respect for nothing and nobody. Why should I?
Man, I hate this place!
I salute anyone who’s moved away from the UK!
